Bamboo shades go by many different names like woven wood shades, matchstick blinds, natural roman shades and bamboo blinds. Regardless of the name, bamboo shades are typically made from beautiful wood, rattan, jute, grass & reeds and when combined with a privacy or blackout liner – help to provide effective insulation against summer’s heat and winter’s cold. These factors combine to make this window covering a beautiful and practical choice, especially with energy costs rising as they are.
We have tried our very best to scan our color samples to display as close to the original as possible. However, due to many different monitor settings on individual computers and different light sources - these color samples may vary from actual color. Roman Fold Shade
The shade lays off the back of the headrail and raises in soft folds. When lowered completely, the material hangs flat. A 6" Classic Valance hangs off the front of the headrail concealing the hardware.

Options (Extra Charge)
Top Down / Bottom Up
Also called "Duo-Fold" this is a privacy-enhancing system which offers increased flexibility. The moving center and bottom rails lower the shade from the top down, the bottom up or both. Top Down / Bottom Up is perfect for bedrooms, bathrooms and anywhere flexibility in light and privacy control is required.
UpRight™ Clutch Lift System
The convenience and ease of a continuous cord loop makes the Roll-Ease System a popular choice. The cord loop makes it easy to raise and lower larger shades. A cord tensioner mounts the cord to the window frame for child safety. Cannot be combined with Duo-Fold.
Edge Accents™ - Decorative Edge Bindings
To accentuate the beauty of your Horizon's Natural Shade, we can laminate a 2-inch wide strip of fabric to both sides and the bottom of the shade and valance. 9 interesting Edge Accent Patterns to choose from. View Colors
Privacy/Blackout Lining
When you need that extra degree of privacy, insulation or room darkening, the Horizon shade collection has a liner that can do the job. Available in privacy (translucent) or Blackout (new technology eliminates pin-holes of light for true blackout results).
Installation Brackets
New York ("NY") Brackets
Recommended for most standard inside or outside mount installations with a Roman Fold Shade. Supplied standard unless otherwise specified. Bracket height is 1 1/2". Cannot be used with UpRight™ or turned headrail shades. Minimum shade width for a New York Bracket is 12".
"L" Brackets
Used as an alternative to the New York bracket for OUTSIDE MOUNT ONLY. Supplied only upon request. Bracket height is 1 1/2".
2" Screw
A quick easy alternative for INSIDE MOUNT ONLY -- a screw inserted through the headrail and into the window frame. Supplied standard for inside mounted UpRight™ shades.
Extended New York (&quoXNY") Bracket
Extends the shade a full 2" out from the wall. Used only in extreme circumstances to avoid obstacles like large door handles. Supplied only upon request. Bracket height is 1 1/2". Cannot be used with turned headrail shades.
Turned Headrail
As a standard, the headrails of all Horizons™ Shades are mounted horizontally -- 1 1/2" depth by 3/4" high.
You can request a "Turned Headrail" making the depth 3/4" and the height 1 1/2". This is most commonly done in cases of limited mounting depth. Not available on UpRight™ and Duo-Fold shades. Returns are not available.

Averté Natural Fold™
This versatile treatment can be used on a window like a drapery, on a patio door like a vertical blind or as a room divider. Since it is hand-traversed, there are no draw cords to tangle or break. The Averté Natural Fold™ does not come standard with any valance. However any of our valance or cornice options may be ordered separately. Additionally, any valance or cornice ordered with an Averté Natural Fold™ will automatically be upgraded with an oversized headrail (3/4" x 5 1/2") and valance returns at no extra charge.

Inside Mount Deduction
The factory will deduct 1/4" from the width of the track for an inside mount. They also automatically deduct 1/2" from the total unit's height (which includes the track and carriers) so it will not drag on the floor or sill.

Pattern Orientation
The pattern in the Averté Natural Fold™ runs vertically. The pattern in the valance runs horizontally. Classic valances wider than the maximum width of the pattern will be split and butted together.
Installation Configuration
Inside or Ceiling Mount NO VALANCE
There is a approx. 1" gap between the mounting surface and top of material. Please furnish the exact opening height as described above so the factory can make allowance for the track plus a 1/2" gap at bottom.
Inside or Ceiling Mount WITH VALANCE
The valance board is attached to the mounting surface. The headrail is then attached to the bottom of the valance. Please furnish exact opening height as described above so the factory can make allowances for the track, valance board, less a 1/2" gap at the bottom.
Outside Mount NO VALANCE
The height of an outside mounted Averté is the total unit height including track. The fabric height is 1" less than the total height. The factory will make no further deductions.
Outside Mount WITH VALANCE
The height of an outside mounted Averté including track but not valance board height. If you want the fabric height add 1" for track. The factory will make no deductions. Valances come mounted on a 5-1/2" x 3/4" board and have valance returns at no extra cost.
