The tracks, made of a durable high-tech plastic, attach to the inside of the window molding, creating a solid barrier between the frame and the fabric. The fabric edges and bottom rail end caps are notched to fit over the track and glide smoothly while in operation.

Science explains why Energy Smart Shades are a solution. Heat always moves from areas of higher temperatures to areas of lower temperatures.
